Remember Valkyrie? It is NASA’s robot that can help astronauts perform a wide variety of tasks. The robot stands 6 feet tall, weighing at 300 pounds. It has 4 body cameras, 28 torque-controlled joints, 44 degrees of freedom, and over 200 individual sensors.
As this video shows, the robot can autonomously take a curved uneven path and maintain its balance. It relies on a footstep planner to plan footsteps. It uses a LIDAR sensor to gather data and make its way to its destination.
