We all buy fancy, expensive products that we don’t dare open unless absolutely needed. iFixit does the tearing down for you. They have done this for a variety of smartphones and other gadgets. In their latest video, they take a look at what’s under the hood of a Unitree Go2. It has a starting price of around $1600. It can run, climb stairs, and self-right itself.
As this video shows, this robot has WiFi/GPS module, antennas, and cooling fans visible inside. It has heat pipes for thermal management. It has a 32 x 18650 batteries. Its LiDAR unit is protected by a heavy-duty metal cage and handles 360-degree scanning. This robot has a modular design, so you can replace its legs and feet. Its inner motors are harder to address though.
