Teaching robots to handle uneven terrain is easier said than done. Plenty of researchers are working on new algorithms to allow robots to maintain their balance even on grounds that shift under their feet. DLRRMC has shared a video of TORO robot walking dynamically on uneven, rough, and compliant terrain.
