Sweat Powered Electronic Skin Developed By University of California Researchers

😎 New DIY robot kits

Electronic skins are nothing new. We have covered a bunch of them in the past. University of California researchers have come up with an e-skin that can be embedded with sensors to monitor users’ vitals. Best of all, it draws energy from sweat.

As the above GIF shows, this electronic skin can be used interact with a prosthetic leg. Sweat can be used as an energy source because it contains lactate (produces energy when it oxidizes with lactate oxidase). The tiny patch can draw enough energy to power a Bluetooth device.
