The Strandbeest by Theo Jansen has inspired many designs. We have already covered a bunch of robots inspired by it. This video shows a homemade version using Popsicle sticks, nails, worm gear, DC motor, and a few other simple parts. The model has a switch and battery pack and runs without external power.
