Taking out rogue drones is an area the U.S. Army is researching all the time. It is now retrofitting Stinger missiles with proximity fuses to counter the threat of enemy unmanned aircraft systems. They can now intercept drones and destroy them with direct hits or by detonating near them.
This lightweight, portable air defense system can be rapidly deployed by ground troops or on Apache helicopters for air-to-air engagements.
