Meet the SpiRobs: logarithmic spiral robots that can grasp a wide variety of items. They are flexible and actuated with cables for life-like movements. A single robot can handle objects of varying sizes, shapes, and weight. As you can see in the below video, these manipulators look like an octopus. They can be mounted to a drone to pick up objects off the ground or deliver them.
These robots can be 3D printed with TPU, so they are easily accessible. Zhanchi Wang, Nikolaos M. Freris, and Xi Wei are the authors behind this robot.
