We all have to get our colon checked once in a while for cancer and other issues. In the future, robots will take care of that. Take the Sonopill for instance: it is a miniature robotic capsule that goes inside the colon to take micro-ultrasound images. That removes the need for patients to undergo invasive procedures.
The robot has a magnet inside. A robotic arm uses magnets to guide the Sonopill through the colon. Researchers at University of Leeds are behind this project.
