Meet the SkyX Drone: an unmanned aerial vehicle that can inspect oil and gas pipelines. This long-range infrastructure monitoring platform features vertical take-off and landing, so it can fly from anywhere. It is electrically powered and relies on Sky OS for monitoring the fleet.
The drones flag anomalies for faster response. As the company explains, it:
flew its SkyOne Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) on an autonomous data mission over more than 100 kilometres of gas pipeline in Mexico. The robotic flight was programmed and monitored remotely from the company’s Greater Toronto Area SkyCenter mission control, with a support crew of engineers on the ground in Mexico.
