Here is another drone capable of perching on vertical surfaces like a bird. Sherbrooke’s Multimodal Autonomous Drone (S-MAD) can land or take off from walls. It uses a “thrust-assisted pitch-up” to slow down before touchdown.
The drone also has microspines to cling to walls. Such ability is great for inspection and other tasks regular drones may not be suitable for. The above video shows it in action.
