Prosthetic limbs are getting advanced all the time. Georgia Tech’s robotic prosthesis has knee and ankle joints. It uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to anticipate what the user is going to do. Georgia Tech Mechanical Engineering professors Greg Sawicki and Aaron Young are working on perfecting this tech. The research group is working on a knee exoskeleton for children with cerebral palsy, a hip exoskeleton for stroke victims, and an ankle device for aging adults that restores spring to their step.
