AI is going to change the way we compose music. There are already plenty of tools that can produce incredible songs. When it comes to robotic musicians, there is a lot more work to be done. A Georgia Tech Ph.D. student has created a robot violinist with a synthesizer that can understand and improvise Carnatic music.
This system has a brain and body. The body has the mechanical systems with slider and actuators that convert electric signals into motion to produce music. The brain has the algorithms that enable the robot generate music.
