In the past few years, we have covered a bunch of cool robots that can help scientists better understand animals. EPFL researchers have developed a method using the fossil and fossilized footprints of a 300-million-year-old animal (Orobates pabsti ) to identify its most likely gaits.
The robot they made can recreate the walk of this ancient animal. The idea is to use these robots to better understand how extinct animals moved.
