Meet the RoboBee: a tiny robot that can land and stick to surfaces using static electricity. It weighs only 100mg and can take off and fly when needed. It uses an electrode patch that when supplied with a charge allows the robot to stick to almost any surface. To detach, the power supply is turned off.
The Harvard Microrobotics Lab is behind this robot. These robots can play a role in search and rescue missions in the future.
