In the past few years, we have covered a bunch of cool insect inspired robots. Harvard researchers have built the first untethered RoboBee, which is capable of achieving flight without a power connection. It weighs 259mg and has a wingspan of 3.5cm.
The robot is powered by tiny solar cells. It consumes less power than a single bulb on a LED string bulb. Compared to the previous version, this version has improved actuators and an additional pair of wings.
