Pepper is a smart robotic platform capable of learning many skills. We have already covered how it can be used to play the ball-in-a-cup game. This video shows it learning velcro darts. Once the robot’s arm is guided through the motion for the first time, Pepper is ready to improve its performance.
It uses a trial-and-error approach to get better at this. After 60 trials, it scores 100 points most of the time. SoftBank has shared more about the algorithm here.
