This is PAL Robotics’ Kangaroo robot: a bipedal robot for research that can perform jumps and runs with agility. Each leg has 6 DoF, weighing 12.5kg. Kangaroo has custom linear actuators with integrated force sensors. It stands 1.45m tall. The below video shows this robot in action:
To build this, researchers developed “a novel leg design based on ball screw linear actuators with closed kinematic chains.”
