There is better way to learn about robots and coding than building and programming your own. The Octo-Bouncer is an advanced bouncing robot that uses smooth stepper motors and image processing to keep bouncing a ping pong ball. We first had a chance to cover it a few month ago. The machine now has a new custom ball detection algorithm, hit position prediction, and tilt control.
For this project, a Teensy 4.0 Microcontroller, 4x StepperOnline DM442S stepper motor drivers, 4x Nema 17 Stepper Motor, an e-con Systems See3CAM_CU135 camera, and a 48V 8A battery were used. You can find out more about this project on Electron Dust’s channel.
