Here is a low-cost bimanual robot that can learn everyday tasks from what it is shown. Mobile ALOHA has two arms and wheels, so it can move around and manipulate things. It can cook shrimp, operate an elevator, clean a pan, push chairs around, high five people, and open cabinets. The researches used imitation learning to teach the robot via human demonstration in the environment.
This robot has a teleoperation interface that learns tasks through. As the researchers explain, the AI model used here is very similar to tools like ChatGPT. The above video shows it in action.
