Meet MARTY: an autonomous DeLorean that is being taught to drift and steer with the agility and precision of a human driver. The goal is to improve how autonomous cars can respond to hazardous situations on the road.
The above video shows how this autonomous car can complete complex courses. MARTY stands for Multiple Actuator Research Test bed for Yaw control. It uses two GPS antennas to track position within one inch and computer controlled steering.
