In the past few months, we have covered a bunch of rovers designed to negotiate uneven terrain and perform on the surface of Mars and Moon. The Coyote III is a rover with on-board sensors and computer to perform autonomous exploration tasks. The SherpaTT is a walking and driving rover with a LIDAR sensor, camera, and manipulator arm for exploration.
This video shows these robots going through Mars simulation in the desert of Utah. The goal for these robots is to collaborate, collect samples, and return. The rocky landscape comes as close as possible to the conditions on Mars.
