Here is a cute bear that keeps seniors in touch with loved ones. The bear can be programmed to read out messages received from a connected mobile phone. Owners can reply to messages by shaking Kokokuma’s left hand and speaking to it.

We have covered the iCub robot here a number of times in the past. It is a humanoid robot shaped as a four-year old child. It is based on an open platform. This video shows the robot performing balancing moves on one foot. According to the developers, the simulation can be replicated on Linux and OS X.
