Dishcraft Robotics is building robots to automate dishwashing for food businesses. Their system cleans each dish using a rotating scrubber head.

You shouldn’t have to go through months of training to program robots. Purdue Researchers have developed an augmented reality platform for programming robots via an app. The app allows users to plan a task for robots to perform. Once the phone is loaded on the robot’s docking station, it will be able to perform tasks autonomously.
Meet Jelly: a walking, rolling robot that can change its shape to walk short distances or roll longer ones. It can negotiate uneven terrain. The robot has 12 degrees of freedom with each leg capable of moving in 3 directions. As the UC Berkley undergraduate students explain, the next step for Jelly is an active balancing mechanism, so it can walk faster.
5G robots are the future. Plenty of companies are working on perfecting the technology. According to China Xinhua News, 5G agricultural robots are being used in East China to gather data from plants. This 5G robot delivers real-time picture and video transmission for faster AI analysis.
Robots are already capable of making all kinds of meals and drinks for us. Plenty of food businesses are exploring the idea of using robots to better serve their customers and reduce customers. LOUNGE X’s robotic coffee makers can prepare drinks like a pro. They can pour and shake ground coffee and pour water autonomously.

Remember Root? It is an educational robot that can teach your kids about technology through play. iRobot has now acquired the company behind it. Root can draw artwork and respond to touch on its 4 top zones. It can see colors to follow, climb up/down surfaces, and draw/erase on whiteboards.
We all have to get our colon checked once in a while for cancer and other issues. In the future, robots will take care of that. Take the Sonopill for instance: it is a miniature robotic capsule that goes inside the colon to take micro-ultrasound images. That removes the need for patients to undergo invasive procedures.
Meet the Airbot One robot: a duct inspection and cleaning robot that is propelled by 2 powerful motors. It allows access to all types of ducts and can move efficiently in them. The robot weighs 5.75kg. It has 2 cameras and 4 LED lights.
Brain controlled robots are nothing new. We have covered a bunch of interesting projects in that area in the past. lairobotics has shared a video that shows a 7DOF Kinova Jaco2 robot arm controlled via a brain computer interface. An Emotiv Epoc+ is used to control the robot.
