MIT’s robot are quite amazing. We have covered many of them in the past. In their latest video, MIT engineers show how mini cheetah robots can fall, flip, and play soccer together. These robots jump and act like a bunch of cute animals.

Using Robots for Assembly of Modular Satellites In Space

0

Robots are going to do many things for us in the future in space, including building things. DLRRMC has shared a video that shows dexterous tasks can be completed by robots with a teleoperation system with haptic force feedback.

This Robotic Arm Slows Down for Humans

0

Robotic arms can move at high speeds. They can be quite unnerving for humans though. Disney Researchers have discovered that slowing robots down can make them feel more normal to humans. As they explain:

The system has the appearance of a robot character, with a bear-like head and a soft anthropomorphic hand and uses Bezier curves to achieve smooth minimum-jerk motions. Fast timing is enabled by low latency motion capture and real-time trajectory generation: the robot initially moves towards an expected handover location and the trajectory is updated on-the-fly to converge smoothly to the actual handover location.

Fast Handovers with a Robot Character: Small Sensorimotor Delays Improve Perceived Qualities

The above video shows this robot in action. As the system shows, humans like human-level timing from robots. More info is available here.

Sillbird Building Blocks Robot for Kids
