Adeept 4WD Smart Raspberry Pi Robot Car Kit
Here is another Raspberry Pi kit that helps you get started with coding and robotics. The Adeept 4WD Smart Car Kit is ready for Raspberry Pi 3 and 4. It comes with objection recognition/tracking and motion detection based on OpenCV. You can control the car with the app.
FLLEX Robotic Hand Version 2.0
Meet the FLLEX Robotic Hand: a 15DOF hand with 3 DOF in each finger. It has more degrees of freedom in comparison to its predecessor and no bearings or pins. There is also a 15-axis motor controller developed from scratch for this. The weight has also been reduced from 2.27kg to 1.81kg.
ANYmal Sewer Inspection Robot
Remember ANYmal? It is a dynamic quadrupedal robot that can take on a wide variety of tasks. As this video shows, it can be programmed to perform sewer inspection by scratching the walls. The robot has a LiDAR and stereo camera to perceive its environment.
KUKA Kitchen Assistant Robot
In the past few years, we have covered plenty of interesting robots that can help with food preparation in the kitchen. This KUKA Kitchen Assistant Robot is also worth a look. It takes care of sorting meal trays in trolleys. The below video shows it in action:
Swab Taking Robot for COVID-19 Testing Developed
In the past few weeks, we have covered a whole host of robots that can help with disinfecting hospitals/businesses, enforcing social distancing, and reducing the spread of COVID-19. Southern Denmark University (SDU) researchers have managed to build an automatic robot to take mouth swabs to test humans for COVID-19.
In just four weeks, a team of robotic researchers from @SyddanskUni has succeeded in developing a fully automatic robot to carry out mouth swabs to test humans for Covid-19 using among others our cobot to do the trick #Covid19 #SDUtech #LifeLineRobotics #WeAreRobotHeroes pic.twitter.com/JIp3CIen0Z

HAMR-JR: Penny-Size Cockroach Inspired Robot
Meet the HAMR-JR: an agile cockroach inspired robot developed by researchers at Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) and the Harvard Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering. It is about the size of a penny, measuring 2.25cm in body length, weighing about 0.3 grams.
