Google DeepMind’s Ping Pong Robot Beats Humans

0

Robots are already capable of beating humans in various games, including Chess and Go. In the future, they will outperform us in sports. Google DeepMind’s table tennis robot can play the game at a human level. Researchers combined a robotic arm with a 3D printed paddle and managed to beat humans 13 out of 29 games.

Some highlights - Achieving human level competitive robot table tennis

For this robot, a 6DOF ABB 110 arm was used. The above video shows it in action. As the researchers explain, all the players were unseen by the robots and their skill level varied, so the robot had to adapt to them.
