i.C. Hexapod Face Tracking Robot

0

Meet the i.C. Hexapod: an interactive robot that can track your face. Matt Denton built it in 2006. It was an early attempt in using machine vision with OpenCV library to build smarter robots. The head has a pan & tilt mechanism and a camera that sends a feed to a computer for image analysis.

Robotic Elytra Insect Inspired Wings for Drones

0

Flying winged drones in close proximity to obstacles while avoiding accidents is not always easy. EPFL researchers have come up with inspect-inspired protective wings for these types of drones. These Robotic Elytra feature an additional set of retractable wings that rapidly cover the main folding wings when protection is needed. The below video shows how this works:

HUENIT Modular Robot Arm with AI Camera

0

Meet the HUENIT: a modular robot arm with an AI camera that can 3D print, laser engrave, draw, and pick & place items. It has 750g payload capacity, 390mm reach, 0.05mm repeatability, and 500 mm/s. This robot’s AI camera is ready for face recognition, image classification, and object detection.

The HUENIT robot can use a high power laser to cut and engrave paper, wood, leather, anodized aluminum, and other materials. It can also work a pen to draw and write. With the Creator Module, you can get use this robot to handle a smartphone, cup, or utensil. This robot even has an auto tool changer.

F-SAM Foldable Monocopter Drone

0

Here is a single-actuator drone that can be completely rolled up. The F-SAM from AIR Lab comes with a foldable semi-rigid wing. Its wing relies on centrifugal forces to become straightened during flight. As the researchers explain, the entire drone can be folded into a pocketable form factor.

DIY 6WD All Terrain Robot with Arduino

0

There is no better way to learn about robots than building and programming your own robot. This project can give you a few ideas. This 6WD All Terrain Robot has a ground clearance of 45mm and weighs 5kg in total. It is built with 6 x 180RPM DC motors, Arduino Mega, 1:10 Monster Truck tires, and a few other simple components.

The extended version has a RunCam split camera, 2-axis gimbal, and a robotic arm. You can find out more about it here.

Transbot Jetson Nano Educational Robot

0

Meet the Yahboom Transbot: an educational robot with Jetson NANO that teaches you a thing or two about ROS. It comes with an aluminum alloy frame, SLAM LiDAR navigation, an optional HD camera with pan & tilt, and 4 ways to control. You can interact with the robot from your mobile device or with a joystick.

This robot has a Silan A1 LiDAR module. It is ready for autonomous driving, color recognition, face detection, and obstacle avoidance. You can find out more about it here.

Novabot Autonomous Lawn Mower Robot with AI

0

Meet the Novabot: an autonomous lawn mower robot that cuts your grass, so you don’t have to. This AI driven robot has a HD panoramic camera and 5 TOPS computing chip. It uses smart sensors to detect and avoid obstacles. Its off-road tires enable the robot to overcome rough terrains.

XAG V40 Bird Inspired Autonomous Agricultural Drone

0

Meet the XAG V40 Agricultural Drone: a fully autonomous twin-rotor flying platform with a 16-litre liquid tank and a 25-liter granular container that can spread up to 49kg seed or fertilizers in a minute. It has a spray width of up to 10 meters. Its arms and propellers can fold over its body.

TurtleBot 4 Mobile Robot with ROS 2 & LiDAR

0

The TurtleBot 4 is a mobile robot designed for researchers and developers. It has an iRobot Create 3 robot base and uses a Raspberry Pi 4 computer running Ubuntu, ROS 2 and on-board sensor drivers. It also has a 2D LiDAR and front-facing stereo camera. It can be expanded with additional sensors and modules.

Cobi: Autonomous Robotic Injection System for Mass Vaccination

0

Meet Cobi from Cobionix: a smart multi-sensing robot that can work safely along humans. As this video from the company shows, the robot can perform injections autonomously. The idea is to use robots like this for mass vaccination at clinics.

World's First Autonomous Robotic Injection

The robot uses LiDAR for position tracking. It perform needleless injection and ejects used vials after the process.
