Here is a lifelike robot that can perform pushups and other exercises and sweats while doing so to keep its motors cool. Kengoro is modeled after a 13-year-old male and weighs well over 100 pounds. It has 116 actuators to pull its “muscles.”
Since these actuators produce heat, Kengoro has water circulated through its metal frame to release heat from the motors. The robot has a flexible spine and can move its head from side to side.
