Advanced robots are not exactly light in weight, so when they malfunction or fall down, they could cause damage to humans and assets around them. Jinoh Lee, Wooseok Choi and their team have presented an experiment that explores a soft impact protection on the hands of the humanoid WALK-MAN robot.
The robot’s hands inflate to make sure it lands more gracefully on the desk. The above video shows how it all works.
