Heavy robots are not always safe to use around humans. Let’s not forget that if they fail, they could damage your assets or even the operator. The Hexapod Giacometti Robot is a lightweight, long legged robot that can operate by humans safely. It is 0.94m tall, 1.67m wide, and 1.5m long. It weighs only 3.7kg.
As you can see in this video, even after a fall, the robot takes minimal damage. It is also easy for the operator to handle it. The robot was developed at Suzumori Endo Lab, Tokyo Institute of Technology in collaboration with A2Lab. It was built using soft actuators.
