Here is a microbot made by researchers at the Wyss Institute & Harvard SEAS that uses electroadhesive pads, origami ankles, and a tripedal crawl gait to climb on conductive surfaces of any orientation. The HAMR-E robot measures 4.5cm long, weighing 1.48g.
This robot can access places that are too small for humans. In the future, it could be used to autonomously inspect jet engines.
