Suction-based robotic grippers are used in various industries but struggling with complex shapes. Researchers have come up with a fractal structure that enables suction based grippers to get around these limitations. This gripper conforms and locks around objects. This approach also allows corner grasping.

Researchers built a prototype gripper and used a compact vacuum brake system for it. The above video shows how it works.
