Tiny drones don’t have a whole lot of payload capacity. As it turns out, they can be modified to haul much heavier objects. Standard researchers have developed small flying robots that can perch and move objects 40 times their weight using winches, gecko adhesives and microspines.
The FlyCroTug can move and pull on objects around it. Two of these can combine to open doors. These drones anchor themselves to various surfaces and can lift cameras, water bottles, and everything else in search & rescue missions.
