FlexVR: Portable Robotic Surgery Simulator

Robots are already performing surgeries. Aspiring surgeons will need to learn how to operate them. That’s where FlexVR comes into play. It is a portable robotic surgery simulator that teaches students camera control, instrument manipulation, suturing, and other features of surgical robots. It tracks all users through training sessions and helps them hone their skills.

FlexVR relies on MSim psychomotor skills software that is available on the dV-Trainer and da Vinci Skills Simulator. It supports Mimic’s Maestro AR program to teach various procedures.
