Meet Erica: a beautiful robot girl with a neutral face, 20 DOF, and synthesized voice that wants to learn about the world and people around it. It has autonomous features and a bunch of sensors to understand its surroundings. Erica’s upper body is actuated but the arms can’t move yet. Her skin is made of silicone.
Erica is smart enough to detect where sounds are coming from. It has 14 IR depth sensors to track people. Hiroshi Ishiguro is the designer behind this robot. This video shows what Erica is capable of already.
