Remember Spot from Boston Dynamics? It is a wonderful robot capable of taking on inspection, search & rescue, and other tasks. The New York Police Department is using one to provide an extra layer of protection for the officers. Named Digidog, the robot was recently deployed to respond to an armed home invasion in the Bronx.
This robot can be used to increase situational awareness for the officers. The above video by Daniel Valls shows this robot in action.
