Getting walking robots to recover from a fall is easier said than done. This video from German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence shows how the walking robot Charlie can get up from the supine position. The robot first moves from supine position to prone pose. It transitions to standing posture and relies on its 6DOF artificial spine to reach the 4-legged pose.
