Here is a robot that can build large structures using tiny little pieces. It can work together with other assembler robots for more complex structures. These robots look like a small arm and move around like inchworms. BILL-E (Bipedal Isotropic Lattice Locomoting Explorer) can assemble 3D structures.
Researchers at MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms are behind this approach. These robots can count their steps to correct errors. The above video shows them in action.
