Shimon: This Marimba-playing Robot Composes, Plays Own Music with Deep Learning

Robots are already getting a lot smarter. We have already covered a bunch of them capable of playing musical instruments. This marimba-playing robot comes with 4 arms and 8 sticks and can compose and play its own music using deep learning and artificial intelligence.

According to the researchers, the robot is using a database of more than 5,000 songs, including works from Beethoven, the Beatles, Lady Gaga, and other artists. The above videos show Shimon in action.
