ALIAS Robotic Co-Pilot Can Fly, Land Planes

Here is a robotic system that can fly and land planes autonomously. ALIAS (Aircrew Labor In-Cockpit Automation System) has already demonstrated capability to complete various flight tasks:

Demonstrated on a Boeing 737-800NG simulator at the U.S. Department of Transportation’s John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts, ALIAS showcased its ability to utilize the existing 737 auto-landing system to autonomously land the aircraft safely in the event of pilot incapacitation.

ALIAS relies on in-cockpit machine vision, robotic components to move flight controls, and speech recognition. The above video shows it in action.
