This video from Kostas Alexis shows a jumping legged robot for Martial lava tube exploration. It is optimized for jumping in the low gravity of mars. As the researchers explain, this robot “utilizes torque-controlled actuators coupled with springs for high-power jumping.”

Design and Experimental Verification of a Jumping Legged Robot for Martian Lava Tube Exploration

The robot used in this test is 0.47m tall, weighing 7.9kg. It jumped 1.14m in Earth’s gravity.  Simulations show this robot can jump 3.63m in Mars’ gravity.
