In the future, drones will be used for through-wall imaging using WiFi. Professor Mostofi and her team are already exploring the idea. As she explains, WiFi RSSI measurements are used to pull this off. Objects don’t need to be moved to be imaged. Two UAVs move outside the area of interest, with one transmitting a WiFi signal, and the other measuring the received signal strength.
