Robots building fancy structures is nothing new. KUKA and its partner Branch Technology are exploring the idea of using KUKA robotic arms to 3D print strong structures using carbon fiber reinforced ABS plastic. The material solidifies quickly as new structures are drawn.
As you can see in this video, these structures are strong enough to withstand lots of weight. This robot was used to build an open air children’s pavilion in Nashville. Pretty cool, don’t you think?
