Here is a 3D robotic arm that uses a mobility motor to advance along the links and an actuation motor to move its joints. The 3D MASR has a passive arm that doesn’t have wires or motors. The actuators moves on the arm and engages the joints and locks them in place. A gripper is attached to it for object transportation.

The 3D MASR weighs only 2.3kg. It has a modular design. 5 joints are actuated by a single mobile actuator.
